Could you please tell me how high the bottom of the panel is mounted above the floor? Hi there wlippens. The height is 48 cm like the original Cessna 172. Below is a picture and here is the sketchup file to download Cessna Simulator.skp (305.3 KB). Regards AlbEagle.

Hello, This is a fantastic project that you have realized here. I also want to build the home cockpit now. I would be glad if you could support me with various questions. Maybe you have an e-mail address for me. It would be great if you could convert the drawings from the panel (.art) into a format so that I can open it with AutoCAD. So that you also get an impression from me, here is the link to my homepage: www.modellbau-technik.atI'm really excited what you have realized. Great praise. I'm more in the technical field and less in electronics, but with your project and your exact description I'll rescue it

Thanks for the answer. The drawing is the original panel. It would be great if you could send me the two AutoCAD drawings from the lower and upper panel. I would like to do the construction according to your instructions and therefore the panel. I have already tested and worked with Arduino with Mobiflight. I have already built the compass. Put a few pictures of it and with what I'm testing right now.

Hey! I'm thoroughly enjoying your flight sim build and want to make my own. I've already given it a few goes but nothing as good as your design and choice of material. Because I already have the monitor, rotary encoders, and necessary circuitry I'd love it if you could convert your .art file in which you modified it to your liking (and mine!) so something more standard like stl. I've tried doing this conversion myself, but ArtCAM software is no longer available for download as it was discontinued by AutoDesk and thus nothing can open the file... However, I have heard you can export as different file types in the program. If this is something you can do, let me know! Thanks and happy flying!

Hi there Flying Faller
I will check out and see what export options do I have. STL would be not easy as it is a 3D format but I will check it out as soon as I can.

@aibeagle, I have been looking for a Cessna panel which I can use for a group project at my flight school. I am glad I came across this forum...

For a real panel look at www.aircraftpanel.com/. You can look for a local place that has either cnc machines or a water cutter. The cheapest option is a piece of MDF, plans for the panel, and a hand held router or other saw.
