I ran out of black filament. So I will 3D print the knobs in white and then spray them with black model paint. About the ring, I am still doing some research. It seems that the ringed knobs only found in some old model radio panels. Thanks for the advice anyway. BTW, I tried to 3D print the button labels. But my 3D printer do not have good enough resolution to do the job. How can you solve the problem? Many thanks KK Maybe not extrude but have the letters engraved in the buttons, than paint it all and sand the surface until you only have the engraved letters with that color and the rest of the surface the other color.

Finally, I use laser engraved buttons , instead of 3D printed ones.

I laser engraved and cut the small label plates on 2 mm white acrylic sheets; painted the letters with black model paint. Then attached the plates on the top of the 3D printed buttons.

Finally, I have completed building the radio stack. Although the radio stack is not 100% functional, it is really interesting to build it. Thank Alb again for sharing his project with us. Hope that the Mobiflight author can work out how to implement the number key input in the transponder soon. It is a pity that the transponder does not work. KK

I would use something like this, it will look better in my opionion. Link on ebay

Hi Alb,
Thanks for the info. I also do not feel comfortable with the knob caps I used. They look too "shiny". Will try the ebay link you provided.

I assume you did some wiring and soldering in the back and changed over the 5D 7seg led to 6D 7seg displays. It look really nice.

Yes, that is what I did. Luckily, I was able to find a 6-digit 7-segment display with almost identical pinout as the 5-digit one. So, I only needed to solder one single wire on the PCB. However, the order of the digits are not correct. I map the last digit to D5 of MAX chip and program it separately in Mobilflight.
