Hi all, I’m an absolute beginner, never soldered anything but after practice a few hours on a sample board I got the hang of it. I completed most of the soldering on the pcb, but I’m now left with this small separate Arduino pcb and I have some questions now which I’ll number for easy replying 1) I can just snap on the arduino board on the arduino pcb, and then I simply after put the “raiser-things” solder it together so they are attached and connect well right? 2) After doing #1, how do I get this all connected to the main pcb? I not see it in the documention on the website. I do notice that on the main pcb there is the same amount of holes as that’s on the arduino pcb, but how to connect these 2? With cables or something 1 by 1? Isn’t there something I’m missing from the purchase list in order to connect these 2? 3) Is there a simple (for me) way to somehow edit the Gerber file so I can change some of the sizing as I like to fit it in my homemade enclosure. I googled for editing Gerber but it seems impossible, or is that because Gerber is an export of some original file? Im a fast learner so f anyone can help me out here how to modify things to my preference in size of main pcb, I would be grateful. Note: willing to pay for a service if it’s also possible for me to have most components assembled using something called a BOM ( ) file for Jlcpcb, so all chips, capacitors, resistors, leds and even the digit displays on a “seperate” pcb for easy placement inside my enclosure box to where I want it to be at. Oh, obviously, I’m also happy to donate to this website instead of pay the person who can help me as a beginner with zero knowledge lol Cheers, Hans(jeFS)

Hi there Hans, I have designed the PCB to have as much attachable/detachable components or modules so you can easily swap or change them in case they get damaged or in case you need them for other projects. I added some pictures with some explanations on the website, please check it out Airbus A320 FCU Arduino AssemblyRegarding the gerber files, it is not possible to edit them, can you please tell me the dimensions you are trying to achieve, I will check if it is possible to make it smaller, I can't promise it will work but I can give it a try. Regards AlbEagle

Thank you so much for that update. Right now I have made it like this, I hope it’s supposed to be like that? 😅 Images @ ibb.co/jV0vZrwibb.co/pv9GjXg

Thank you so much for that update. Right now I have made it like this, I hope it’s supposed to be like that? 😅 Images @ ibb.co/jV0vZrwibb.co/pv9GjXgLooks good I’m a step further now, I have the dc connector part (and a 2A DC 5v adapter, I didn’t know howmany Amps, so I went safe with a 2A one ☺️), now now I’m stuck at the following (see image: ibb.co/mNyVmqn ). I might have overlooked something, but I really couldn’t find anything about it 😔 I thought at first that maybe it’s not even required to have a button for turning it on/off, so I plugged the power in it and nothing happened, so I assume a button is required.I try to make it according your documentation, in the future I can always use a different switch and mount the button on my enclosure for example, but for now I prefer a 100% accurate and completed a320 fcu v1.6 unit by “flying for fun” 😅 Thanks again 🙏🏼❤️

Hi Hans, This is the switch you need to use: Micro switchAs for the other component, it is an LED, so when you switch on the radio, the LED turns on. If you don't want to use the switch and the LED (it is going to be at the back of the PCB and you might never see or use it as you will probably leave it always on , but I put it there anyway), you can just simply solder the pins together, Regards AlbEagle

Thank you so much AlbEagle <3 I'll be getting that exact same switch today from a local shop here, not want to wait another 2 weeks to continue as the entire dining table has already become a soldering station, which my wife isnt happy about
