Hi again
just payed for the radio panel and GPS,
quick question, do you have a guestimate ETA on the face plate? really no hurries since it will probably take 3-4 weeks until I get the boards...
and another one: do you plan on making a 342/5 and a transponder and autopilot to complement the GPS? it would be amazing to see something like the complete radio panel , but with a 342/5 on top, a pair of 530's or even better to learn a 530 and a 430 ,
and a transponder and an autopilot below...
well one can dream....

Hi there, I am working on the faceplate (the 3d printed version) which has to be divided into two pieces because of the size. As soon as it is ready I will post it and let you know (I don't think it is going to take long) Of course the best optics would be achievable with a laser cutter and engraver (I don't own a laser cutter yet ), so if you go with that option, there are the CAD files included which will help you to cut and engrave. Transponder is already included in the radio stack. The bottom part of the Radio is the Autopilot which includes COURSE, SPEED, HEADING, ALTITUDE AND VERTICAL SPEED. The idea of this autopilot was to use it with other aircrafts as well like Boeing and Airbus. I have seen that Allan Glen has done a great job with the GPS's (530 and 430), that's why I haven't been working on them, so I suggest you take a look at it, here is the link: cessna172sim.allanglen.com/docs/avionics/

yeh, I know the radio panel has them, I was talking about either making them standalone or in a complete panel like yours but with one 530 and one 430 instead of the radios and the ADF. again, this is a dream..
as for Allan's GPS - it's not a PCB like yours. and he never finished his 340.
the 430 shouldn't be that hard? just remove one button and rearrange the others?
again - only if you have way too much time...

yup, exactly that, but is the ADF on the side needed? as far as I know it is not used anymore?

Oh, you forgot to update the site with the release of the new radio panel, or are you waiting for the stl to be ready?

Oh, you forgot to update the site with the release of the new radio panel, or are you waiting for the stl to be ready? That was only the concept, it needs work now to design the pcb properly, I will be working on it. ADF is standalone, which means you don't have to, but if anyone wants to replicate the original, can do so.

Does this mean I should hold off on ordering a PCB as per the current v3.1 plans that is being sold on the website?

If you want to go with the classic radio as published on the website, you can go ahead and make the pcb's, v3.1 is fine If you want to go with the other radio requested with the 345 radio and gns 530 and 430 like the one in the picture below than you have to wat until I design it because the picture is only so I make sure I understood the request correctly. To be honest I don't know how long will it take as I will be working on It evry time I get back from work.

Currently putting together an order-list and wish to know which switch design to get.

Not sure yet as I am working on the pcb components and connections, when I get to arranging them I will know for sure. There are too many buttons in that small area which makes it difficult to fit, but I will try to go with led tactile buttons if possible.
