hey guys what controller board would I use if Iam building a cockpit with DIY radio stack and switch panels etc? Hi there Nic, I'm using Arduino Mega. You can use Leo Bodnar Cards, they are more expensive but have more I/O pins and are easier to setup as it will be recognized as a Joystick. It's up to you how much do you want to spend and how do you want to set it up. Leo Bodnar card is easier but more expensive, Arduino is cheaper but you need multiple Arduino Cards. Regards AlbEagle

Alb Eagle. How do you use the LCD displays with a Leo Bodnar card? I have one left over from an old Dash 8 Build but I am a complete novice to this sort of thing All your help will be welcomed with open arms. This is all in aid of building a flight simulator for our local air cadets. Kind regards
Craig

With Leo Bodnar cards you can use buttons, switches etc but not displays or 7 segment displays. Those cards are recognized as hid devices. To display data you need arduino mega 2560. Chinese arduino clones are pretty cheap (about $8 free shipping) and they work great, so to dusplay data on lcd or 7 segment displays you only need one Arduino mega 2560 and use the leo bodnar card for switches. Regards Albeagle

Hello, can you please send me the dimensions of the radio panel, which you have built yourself. Not the finished board. I would need the dimensions for the cutout in the front panel and the cover itself. Thank you

Hello, can you please send me the dimensions of the radio panel, which you have built yourself. Not the finished board. I would need the dimensions for the cutout in the front panel and the cover itself. Thank you The Radio is 208mm x 350mm The cutout in the front panel is 5mm smaller on each side which would be 198mm x 340 mm (1cm smaller vertically and horizontally) but you can let it even smaller, depending on how you will use your components.
