Hi, this depends on your interfacing software. I'm using ardsimx and in the given example a potentiometer is used which can be interfaced according to this simvim.com/ardsimx/conf_ain.html link. However even when using an encoder or other other device like a rt-switch the determining component is the interface. Bart

Hi All, I just thought i'd share the following find. It's supposed to be for a guitar but i ordered one and it's going to be a perfect starting point for a flaps lever. It's about 45mm tall by about 8mm wide. It has a nice positive feel to it and is solidly built. I'm going to mount it behind the dashboard with the lever protruding through a slot Cost me £6.50 + p&p 4 Position Lever Switch

Hi, I build flap control from cessna172sim.allanglen.com/. Great project. Do You anyone have .stl file of flap lever? Thank you very much. Beli, I too like Allan's flaps control. Yes, unfortunately he did use an actual Cessna flaps lever which goes for $120-$240 USD. I did find this on thingiverse : www.thingiverse.com/thing:4251716 . The author is VLISH U can see his video here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=rNv9xIhc0AcHe has a flaps lever in his drawing. You can likely use meshmixer to modify to fit Allan Glen's flaps. Hope that helps! Larry

Hope that helps! Larry I'm going to add this as a remix in thingiverse to Allan Glens share. I created a new ARM, Lever, and a spring mount for the flaps control. I am using a 10K pot as the position sensor. The arm has a larger back portion for a weight. Since the pots don't have stop positions, the lever has enough weight on it that it automatically moved downward toward the 10degree position. Therefore a counterweight of about 3/8oz ~10 grams is enough to offset. I recommend using a bullet style weight (fishing). I do have some springs on order and that may be enough to have it hold its position either at 0 or 10 degrees due to friction. A combination of the weight and spring will ensure that the handle will not move on its own. Let me know what you think if you print this out and use it. www.thingiverse.com/thing:4739755Thanks, Larry
