Hi,
Started my project to build a cockpit for a Cessna 182T (A2A) within FSX, later on I will migrate to FS2020 but need to upgrade hardware for this. I have choosen for the C182 instead of the C172 because it has more horsepower and endurance for longer flight. The C182 is quite simular as the C172, so only some minor changes are necessary.
Alot of credit to AlbaEagle for his website and work, it was a great help during my research to build a cockpit! I will post some progress of my work to support this website and other builders.
I'll start with the radiopanel, in my opinion this is the most complex and most important panel within the cockpit. After the radiopanel I'll do the mainpanel, lowerpanel, pedestal, gps, ... .
I have ordered and received the PCB's for the radiopanel V2 from AlbaEagle. Saterday I have soldered the IC sockets for the MAX7219 chips and soldered all the resistors and capacitors on the back of the PCB. The headers for the Mega's are also soldered on the Arduino PCB.
Now I'm waiting for the arrival of all the other components so I can make the front panel and solder al the other components.
If you have questions, let me know!

Still waiting for some components to continu with the radiostack. In the meantime I have started designing the bezels for the steam gauge instruments. I've checked the 3D printable bezels on the website but my encoders didn't fit proparly and I found these bezels quite large. So I decided to redraw them from scratch, the big bezels are ready and have a diameter of 75mm. The encoders fits like a glove! Now I'm printing them, next step: the small bezels.

These bezels were not designed by me, if you want to share yours, i can put the thingiverse link or just upload them on the website and credit you.

Still need to draw the small bezels and the clock. When all finished I will upload to Thingiverse and post the link! They are made to fit with the EC11 encoders.

The bezel for the OAT/clock is still under construction, I'm waiting for the 6x6mm micro switches I have ordered. Once finished I'll add them and let you know. Also still waiting for components to continue working on the radiostack.

I did a test to spraypaint a bezel: first some sandpaper, then a layer of grey primer and finished with matt black paint. Great succes, the bezel looks less plastic and more real in my opinion.

Printed all the Bezels look great, can you share the CAD file for the CUTOUT Layout for the panel. I would like to get the panel CNCed on a 4mm Dibond plate but struggling with the correct sizing. If i place the bezels on the monitor it fits but the Illustrator files i made have a bit of a different sizing.
see images:
PS the Clock is from allanglen.com

Great to see the bezels in use. Today I received the 6x6mm pushbuttons for the clock, see example on picture. Will draw the clock bezel asap and upload.
You mean the complete front panel? Still need to draw that one.
First I will do the radio frontplate. I hope to mill a prototype this weekend. When the radio panel is finished then I'll buy a 22" monitor and start working on the frontpanel.
I'm not as fast as you are!
