Please connect all three cables to the arduino shield, even if you use only one arduino and see if that makes a difference.

UPDATE!!! Completely rebuilt from ground level. Only installed the Com1 and Nav1 displays. Purchased 3 true Arduino megga boards. All displays lit up 88888 until the Mobiflight upload. Now everything dark again. Am I missing a step? Even tried launching X-Plane. No help. Does it matter that the com stack isn't like the one in X-Plane?

Have you connected all three cables from the radiostack to the Arduino shield?

yes, all 3 are connected and programmed. Not clear on the next steps to link them with X-Flight. Does Mobiflight need to be loaded as a plug in into X-Flight if so should it show up on the plug-in monitor. Secondly is there additional actions in X-Flight that need to be done? Lastly does it matter that the sim cockpit display is not like the com stack?

Well I am not sure about X-Flight, maybe someone else can help here. I think at least you need to install FSUIPC and the FSUIPC plugin for X-Flight if I am not mistaken.

Learned lessons so far, 1) use Arduino boards, aftermarket boards give you grief. 2) connect all 3 Arduino boards. 3) use sockets for the Max chips and displays, much easier to problem solve. 4) Be very careful and clean with the soldering. some of the vias on my PCB were very close to the pads. 5) Build one section at a time. AlbEagle's recommendation and it to saves on the problem solving. Thanks, AlbEagle! 6) The Mobiflight programming has another layer, after you open the .mmc file and upload it to configure the 3 Arduino boards you must go into each item in the list and set its settings in the configuration wizard. Ok now for the question. You all knew it was coming. Wait for it. I am using X-Plane as the sim. When I program the boards do I set it to "X-Plane or leave it FSUIPC? I finally had signs of life on the new build. Thanks AlbEagle and several others for the guiding information.

Glad to hear you got it working . Let's hope someone with X-Plane experience can help here.

1. Does the Com Stack work on MSFS2020? 2. Are the files on the web site correct and usable? 3. Has the guy that created the site still active? At first there were no postings but recently I see more. So am I safe in ordering the PCBs using the files from the website or is their a newer more up to date?
Sorry for the questions but a year ago it seemed like the site had been static.
Thanks

Hi there Jay, I am not as active as I used to be (kids + other things ). I answer whenever I can, yes the files should be usable, but instead of purchasing a minimum of 5 boards, maybe someone has spares and can sell them to you cheaper.

Ok some additional updates, COM1 active/standby frequencies and Nav1 active/standby frequencies are now functional. On to Com2/Nav2. THANKS to AlbEagle for the helping hand. Does anyone have the config files for X-Plane?

This does work with X-Plane, I have used with Air manager with no problems.

I am using it with X-plane for the Cessna 172, so far only have the Coms and Navs displays working, waiting on additional parts to come in.

Can anyone assist me with programming Mobiflight? I am using the X-Plane configuration, and don't understand how to program the 14 segment displays to work. I am also unsure about many of the other display sections. I have Com1/Nav1 and Com2 Nav2 setup because I can clearly understand them and transpose them from the FSUIPC information, but the others are not so much self-evident. It has taken me 5 months to get to the point of testing just the displays, so any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks mostly to Abegale's assistance and guidance I have made it this far. But I still have a long way to go, all the encoders and switches so I welcome any guidance I can get. Thank you in advance. Mark H
