Hey
do you have a list (that I probably missed) of what is connected to each pin?
thanks

Hi, In the Cessna 172 Radiostack v3.1 folder that you have downloaded, there should be an excel file with the pinouts, anyway if you don't have it, you can find it here as attachment. Cessna 172 V3.1 Pins.xlsx (576.24 KB)

thanks, I imagined i missed something... BTW any progress with the face plate? I am very close, I couldn't work on it lately. How is the radio progressing, did you get the components.

yup, that is how i figured out I have no idea which pin goes where especially with the shift registers... now that I have it, today I'll make it work.
BTW, will the switches and encoders work without the 5V input?

OK, again i'm missing something, but where are the pins for the 7segs? I see everything else

also, all the inputs on the shift registers do not work - I imagine it's because you are labeling them SI and SH where in mobiflight (10) the pins are labeled latch and data so I'm probably not connecting them right?

SH is for LATCH CLK for CLOCK SI for DATA the LED shifter works perfectly BTW Great to hear

see, I knew it was something I missed.... will try it tomorrow and see how and if it works. (if not, i probably did something wrong again )
Oh, and how do I know which displays are connected to which array?

Please check it out and let me know. I don't have the PCB V3.1 because customs are making me problems so let me know how is going. If there is any issue we can solve it

(if not, i probably did something wrong again ) Oh, and how do I know which displays are connected to which array? There can be mistakes from my side as well, so we will go through it and make it work. These are the arrays of displays: Array 1: (COM1 Active, COM1 Standby NAV1 Active, NAV1 Standby, COM2 Active, COM2 Standby, NAV2 Active, NAV2 Standby) Array 2: (DME Display1, DME Display2, NM Letters, KT Letters, ADF Display1, ADF Display2, Transponder Display1, Transponder Display2) Array 3: (CRS, SPD, HDG, ALT, VS)

few strange issues I'm trying to figure out: 1. the 7Seg are lighting up, showing the data but only for a few seconds and them shut down, any ideas? could it be the power supply? the LEDs are working and the NM and KT work all the time. 2. can't seem to figure out how to make the buttons on the shift registers work, will check a few youtube videos to see if I'm doing something wrong. 3. only the MHz Enc for Nav1 is not working, all the rest on the comm panels seem to work (still checking the DME and AP encoders, at least I see the VS one working perfectly). 4. any idea how I setup the NM and KT ?

Hi, 1. It might be, please check the power supply, eventually check the capacitors if they are soldered correctly. 2. Check the explanation below 3. Strange, it should be working, N1MHZ- should be connected to pin D12 and N1MHZ+ to pin D13. Check with a multimeter, maybe a faulty encoder. 4. Please follow the instructions from this attachment and see if you get it working nm_and_kt_letters.pdf (177.33 KB) 2. I'm afraid you need to cut two traces and solder two wires and check it out, I will explain with pictures how to do that. 1. On the back side of the PCB, you need to cut the trace near the small dot (that's pin D43) and solder a wire from pin D43 to pin 9 of 74HC165 - 4 shift register 2. Again, on the front side you need to cut the track beside the dot (that comes from pin D38). That is right below the 5th pin counting from the right, as in the picture below. Than on the back side, you connect a wire from that dot, or directly from pin D38 to pin 9 of 74HC165 - 6. This should solve the Input shift register issue. Please let me know how it is going.
